Appoints Two New Directors
Chief Judge Gayl Carr, the judges of the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court and James Dedes, director of Court Services, are pleased to announce the appointments of James McCarron, director of Probation Services, and Dennis Fee, director of Residential Services. McCarron’s appointment was effective Oct. 2, and Fee’s appointment was effective July 24.
McCarron possesses 24 years of experience within the field of juvenile justice in Fairfax County, most recently serving as the director of Special Services where he supervised a staff of 20. His program responsibilities included parole, special placements, intensive supervision, community service project, young offender program, enhanced sex offender treatment program, and the SHOCAP program. McCarron holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Old Dominion University.
Fee has over 25 years experience with the JDRDC. Since 1999 he has headed the Central Intake Unit responsible for screening intake complaints filed before the court. Fee has also been a probation counselor and the assistant superintendent at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. He received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from George Mason University.
