Hunter Mill District Office to Host Open House on Beulah Road Trail Study
Fairfax County Supervisor Catherine Hudgins (Hunter Mill District) will host an open house on Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 7 - 9 p.m. at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens Visitor Center, 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court, Vienna. The open house will provide interested parties with information about the feasibility study for a proposed multi-purpose trail along Beulah Road from Abbottsford Road to Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, named "Walk Along Beulah." This segment would be the backbone of the NoVi Trail Network (NoVi is short for Northern Vienna).
The NoVi Trail Network is a proposed system of trails which would better connect local public facilities, including Wolf Trap National Park, the Barns at Wolf Trap, Meadowlark Botanical Garden, the W&OD Trail, eight Fairfax County parks, the Cross-County Trail, Wolftrap Elementary School and the town of Vienna. Besides giving residents better access to local facilities, the improved network of trails would provide safer passageways for pedestrians and bicyclists, and encourage healthier lifestyles. Use of the trails by residents would lighten traffic and help improve air quality.
The Hunter Mill Office welcomes input from the community regarding this trail project and encourages interested parties to attend the open house.
