Volunteers Needed at Fairfax County
Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court
Victim services aides for the Office of Victim Services at the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are needed to assist crime victims of juvenile offenders. Volunteers will notify victims of pending hearings, inform them of their legal rights and provide emotional support. Training and supervision will be provided. A minimum commitment of one four-hour shift per week between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for six months is required. Volunteers will be interviewed and must submit to a criminal background check. A background in law, counseling or social work is helpful but not required.
