Discover how to Reclaim Your Identity by
Watching the February Edition of “County Magazine”
On “County Magazine” this month, discover how one man reclaimed his identity after three years, with help from Fairfax County’s Consumer Protection Division. Learn how identity theft can ruin your good name and credit when you watch this program on Fairfax County government Channel 16.
“County Magazine” will celebrate National Consumer Protection Week, Feb. 7 – 11. “Identity Theft: When Fact Becomes Fiction” is the theme for the week, and the show will teach viewers simple steps to prevent them from becoming identity theft victims.
Plus, “County Magazine” will take viewers on a tour in time and place. Visit George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens in honor of the birthday of our nation’s first president. Travel back in time to learn why the Gum Springs community was once a safe haven for African-Americans early in Virginia history. Take a ride around Fairfax County on the new Mobile Accessible Travel Training, or MATT, bus. This classroom on wheels is designed to teach seniors how to use public transportation.
See karate team members from Spring Hill RECenter demonstrate the skills that have taken them around the world.
And meet land designers, developers and contractors honored for their environmental efforts in erosion and sediment control.
“County Magazine,” with host Gail Eskew, can be viewed on Channel 16 each Monday at 7 p.m.; Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 3:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. The program may also be viewed on the Internet anytime during the month through Channel 16’s video-on-demand service at www.fairfaxcounty.gov. For more information about “County Magazine” or any of the other award-winning Channel 16 programs, call 703-324-5930, TTY 711, or visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov.
