National Telecommunicator’s Week: April 11 - 15
National Telecommunicator’s Week is April 11 - 15. This week is recognized yearly for the tireless service provided by 911 call takers and dispatchers nationwide who work 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide emergency, as well as non-emergency assistance to each citizen who calls. In Fairfax County, the 911 center is located at 3911 Woodburn Road in Annandale.
On Friday, April 15, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., the Fairfax County 911 Center will be holding an open house for the citizens of Fairfax County. Residents are encouraged to stop by and see the 911 center in action and tour the facility. At 2 p.m., Fairfax County will hold an awards ceremony to recognize 911 center employees, in various categories, for the excellence they display on a daily basis.
Members of the media are invited to visit the center during the open house and awards ceremony and meet the exemplary county employees who dedicate each day to provide professional service to the citizens of Fairfax County.
For more information on the open house, awards presentation or to schedule a tour of the 911 Center, contact Tammy Read, assistant supervisor for community outreach, at 703-280-0509, TTY 711.
