Volunteers Needed for Mission of Mercy Dental Care Project
The 2005 Mission of Mercy Project will be held April 15, 16 and 17 at Northern Virginia Community College’s Medical Education Center, 6699 Springfield Center Dr., Springfield. Volunteer dentists, hygienists, nurses and other health professionals from the area will be on hand to provide dental care to 1,500 low-income residents of the Northern Virginia area.
Volunteers are needed for many tasks including translating for patients and dentists, taking blood pressures, helping patients fill out forms, parking attendants, limited child care and at registration and check-out. Bilingual community members are especially encouraged to volunteer as many of the patients have limited English skills.
If you are a community member and wish to volunteer or you would like to give a tax deductible donation to support the event, please send an e-mail to jknox@campbellhoffman.org. If you are a dental professional who would like to volunteer to work, please contact the Virginia Dental Association at 1-800-552-3886, TTY 711.
For more information or to register to volunteer, contact JoAnn Knox at
703-757-7772, TTY 711 or e-mail at jknox@campbellhoffman.org.
