Hot Lanes: A Hot Topic for June 7 Seminar
Providence District Sponsoring Free Seminar
Hot lanes will be the hot topic for a free seminar on Tuesday, June 7, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Fairhill Elementary School cafeteria, 3001 Chichester Lane, Fairfax.
County residents will receive an update on Hot Lanes from the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Theresa DeFore, Hot Lanes project manager. DeFore will make a presentation and answer questions. Additionally, participants will be briefed on the county’s Transportation Policy Plan and the planning process for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority.
The June 7 seminar is sponsored by Providence District Supervisor Linda Q. Smyth in partnership with the Fairfax Coalition for Smarter Growth, FairGrowth and the Sierra Club. The event is the third of four free seminars about land use and planning. The final seminar will be held on Wednesday, June 22, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Fairhill Elementary School. Topics for this event are park planning, public school planning and tree preservation in the county.
