Improved Bus Service for Stringfellow
Park-and-Ride Lot Begins on June 27
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, in conjunction with the Fairfax County Department of Transportation, is improving Metrobus service between the Stringfellow Park-and-Ride Lot and the Vienna Metrorail. Beginning on June 27, buses will run every 15 minutes during the morning peak period to the Vienna Metro Station. The trip will be faster because the buses will use the HOV ramp to I-66. Some early afternoon and evening service will be provided. Parking is free at the 370-space Stringfellow Park-and-Ride Lot. The bus fare is $1; with a rail transfer, the fare is 35 cents.
As part of the restructuring, bus service will be provided for the first
time to the Faircrest development on Centreville Farms Road and to the
Trinity Center in Centreville. A number of other Metrobus 12 Line routes
are being modified as part of this service restructuring.
