New Drivers’ License Ceremonies Canceled
on Wednesday, July 20
Due to the closure of the county’s old courthouse at 4000 Chain Bridge Road in Fairfax, the ceremonies for new drivers to receive their licenses, scheduled for 5 and 6:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, July 20, have been canceled. All those who were to receive their licenses will be mailed a notice of the rescheduled date.
Young drivers still can continue to drive on their 90-day temporary permits. If necessary, extensions may be issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles; call 1-888-337-4782, TTY 711, for details.
The old courthouse, which houses the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, was closed because of water damage and broken pumps. All functions, activities, meetings and programs scheduled for Wednesday in the old courthouse and the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are canceled.

situation.
