Fairfax County Demonstrates Teamwork
at Community Softball Game in Reston

Fairfax County staff and Reston-area youth will play softball against radio personalities from two Infinity Broadcasting radio stations on Wednesday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Baron Cameron Park, 1130 Baron Cameron Road, Reston. The public is invited to attend the game and activities, which will highlight the teamwork between county agencies in providing services to youth.

Staff from the county’s Department of Systems Management, Police Department, the Hunter Mill District Supervisor’s office and Reston youth will face off against employees from WPGC-FM and WLZL-FM, better known as “El Zol 99.1.”

Although the game starts at 6 p.m., county staff and WPGC and “El Zol” employees will be at the park from 4 to 8 p.m. During this time, county employees will provide residents with information about services and programs available to them, and WPGC and “El Zol” will offer fun giveaways. The soccer field next to the softball field will be open to residents who wish to play soccer.

At the game, Hunter Mill District Supervisor Catherine Hudgins will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Radio personalities from WPGC-FM and “El Zol” will be at the event as well.

“This softball game is an opportunity to show our residents how county service providers play ball together when it comes to providing our children with after-school programs and other services,” said Supervisor Hudgins.

“This is also a great opportunity for county residents to increase their comfort levels with police officers and learn about county services which they may be able to utilize, while enjoying popular radio personalities in a community setting,” she continued.
