West Ox Complex
The West Ox Complex is a partnership among Fairfax County, the
commonwealth of Virginia and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit
Authority.
The West Ox project will transform the former “Camp 30” state correctional facility to a multi-agency complex featuring the county’s Department of Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 center), Office of Emergency Management, Police Forensics and a county bus operations/maintenance facility in partnership with WMATA. In addition, the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Northern Virginia Regional Operations and Virginia State Police Division 7 call-takers and dispatchers will be co-located on-site.
The West Ox Complex will feature improved land use and the transformation of land from a state correctional facility into a multipurpose, multiagency complex. The West Ox Complex will provide critical infrastructure to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of both public safety and transportation services in the county and Northern Virginia region.
