Listed below are schedules for Fairfax County Government offices and services for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, Dec. 23 through Jan. 2. Unless otherwise noted, regular schedules are in effect.
County Government – Closing at noon Dec. 23; closed Dec. 26 and Jan. 2
Courts – Closed Dec. 23, 26, 30 and Jan. 2
Public Schools and School Offices – Schools not in session from Dec. 23 through Jan. 2; school offices closed Dec. 23, 26-27 and Jan. 2
Libraries – Closing at 1 p.m. Dec. 23; closed Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1-2
Fairfax Connector – Sunday schedule Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 (www.fairfaxconnector.com)
FASTRAN – Not in service Dec. 23, 26 and Jan. 2

* The George Washington RECenter in Alexandria remains closed for repairs. For holiday hours at lakefront parks, historic/nature sites and golf courses visit the Park Authority online at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks.
** Reston Community Center: Dec. 24: Hunters Woods front desk open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., pool closed, Lake Anne facility closed; Dec. 26: Hunters Woods front desk open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., pool open from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Lake Anne closed; Dec. 31: Hunters Woods front desk open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., pool closed, Lake Anne open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Jan. 1: Hunters Woods front desk open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., pool open noon to 4:30 p.m., Lake Anne closed.
*** Call private contractors about their schedules. Also, as a reminder, do not use a bag to dispose of ashes. Place discarded ashes in a heavy metal container, moisten the ashes and cover the container with a metal lid.
**** Household Hazardous Waste Sites closed Dec. 24-25, 31 and Jan. 1. Updated closing time of 2 p.m. on Dec. 31 added on Dec. 19.
