Electoral Board Announces Jan. 31 Special Election
Official Voting Information
A Special Election will be held on Jan. 31, 2006, for the member of the Virginia State Senate in the 33rd District. This Senate District contains nine Fairfax County Precincts: 203-Floris; 229-Fox Mill; 235-Frying Pan; 237-McNair; 905-Franklin; 908-Kinross; 911-Navy; 920-Lee’s Corner East; and 927-Lee’s Corner West
To be eligible to vote in this election, people must be a resident of one of these nine precincts and a registered voter in Fairfax County. Citizens who are not registered may register until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006.
Voter Registration
Notice is hereby given that Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, is the final day of
registration for the Jan. 31 Special Election. On Jan. 24, in-person
registration closes at 6 p.m. In-person registration is available at:

Monday - Friday, now through Jan. 24, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Applications to register to vote by mail are available at all Fairfax County public libraries and offices of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors or from the Electoral Board’s Web page at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/eb. Mail-in registration applications must be postmarked on or before Jan. 24.
Absentee Voting
Any qualified voter in Fairfax County who is unable to go to the polls
on Election Day may vote absentee in person or by mail. The Electoral
Board and General Registrar's Office, 12000 Government Center Parkway,
Suite 323, Fairfax, will be open at the following times for in-person
absentee voting for the Jan. 31 Special Election:
Monday – Friday
*beginning Thursday, Jan. 19 through Jan. 27
8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday
Jan. 28
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Absentee applications to vote by mail in the Special Election must be received in the Office of the General Registrar of Fairfax County no later than 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006.
