Tysons Corner Community Invited to Dialogue Sessions
Residents, businesses and nonprofit organizations are invited to participate in a series of initial community dialogues in January and February to identify important issues regarding the future of Tysons Cornerand how the introduction of rail stations will affect growth. The schedule of dialogue sessions, hosted by the Tysons Land Use Task Force, and more information on the Tysons planning study can be found at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/tysons/.
To reserve a space in one of the dialogues, call the Tysons Community Dialogue Hotline at 703-324-1344, TTY 711, or e-mail tysonscornerspecialstudy@fairfaxcounty.gov. Since dialogue locations have different capacities, please sign up in advance so accommodations can be made for as many people as possible. Community members unable to attend a dialogue may provide comments online at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/dpz/tysonscorner/surveyform.htm.
The results of the dialogues and comments submitted online will be included in a report to the task force. The task force, which was appointed by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, will make recommendations to update the 1994 Tysons Corner Comprehensive Plan in order to promote mixed use, facilitate transit-oriented development with a view toward Metrorail expansion, enhance pedestrian connections, improve the functionality of the area and provide for amenities such as public spaces and parks.
Reasonable ADA accommodations are available upon seven days advance notice. Please call 703-324-1334, TTY 711.
