The Fairfax County flag will be flown at half-staff at all county
buildings on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, commencing at 12:01 a.m. and
will remain at half-staff until sunset Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006,
in honor of former Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman
Jack Herrity, who passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006.
Visitation will be held tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 3, from 1 to 4
p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902
Braddock Road, Fairfax.
A public funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11:30
a.m. at St. Bernadette Church, 7600 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield.
The interment will be private.
A Fairfax County Police Department motorcade will lead the funeral
procession from the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m.
on Saturday, Feb. 4, and proceed down Braddock Road to the John
F. (Jack) Herrity Parkway (Route 7100 South) to Old Keene Mill
Road (Route 644) to St. Bernadette Church.
There will be Fairfax County Police door greeters and an honor
guard both at the viewing tomorrow from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9
p.m. at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, as well as at the funeral
at St. Bernadette Church.
