The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, at its meeting on Monday,
Feb. 6, scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., will recognize the following
resident for his service to Fairfax County and issue the proclamation
below. For more information, call 703-324-3187, TTY 711.
Got Stormy Weather? No Problem
The Board of Supervisors will recognize Carl Bouchard of Fairfax
for his years of service as the director of the Stormwater Planning
Division of the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services.
During Bouchard’s tenure, he led initiatives to guide the
management of stormwater and additional environmental activities,
secure dedicated funding to implement the county’s stormwater
management program and increase resources for managing stormwater.
Child Passenger Safety Week
The Board of Supervisors will designate the week of Feb. 12-18,
2006, as Child Passenger Safety Week in Fairfax County. Child
safety seats and seat belts are effective in preventing death
and injury when correctly installed and used. All children under
13 years of age should ride in the back seat of a vehicle. It
is important that a child be restrained properly for their size
and age. A child under 4 feet 9 inches tall will need to be restrained
in a booster seat to raise the child to the proper height in a
car. Those who are 8 years old and older or taller than 4 feet
9 inches should be placed in safety belts in the back seat of
a vehicle.
