Senior Citizens Issues Forum Scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25 at Mantua Elementary School
The Mantua Civic Association and Providence District Supervisor Linda Q. Smyth are sponsoring an informational forum about issues of concern to seniors on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Mantua Elementary School cafeteria, 9107 Horner Court, Fairfax.
The Senior Citizens Issues forum will provide information and resources to assist seniors or those who provide care, advice or assistance to seniors.
The event will begin with a presentation from Fairfax County Chairman Gerald E. Connolly about tax breaks for seniors. Panel presentations about transportation for seniors, affordable housing for seniors, community-based senior services and Medicare Part “D” will be offered, with a question-and-answer session to follow. Information about these issues also will be available at the event’s resource fair.
