Fairfax Connector Seeks Input on Route 989
Fairfax Connector will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, March 1, at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of McNair Elementary School in Herndon to solicit comments from residents and passengers about proposed changes to Route 989 bus service.
Route 989 currently operates weekday bus service between Reston East at Wiehle Avenue Park & Ride, the Pentagon Metrorail Station and Crystal City. In the past few years, several changes have occurred in Pentagon City and Crystal City regarding street directions and access to the Pentagon. Some Route 989 passengers have requested that the route be streamlined in order to improve service. Changes to Route 989 originally were planned to take place in early March, but have been postponed in order to seek additional public input.
