Building and Trade Permits Will Not Be Issued on Friday, March 17
New Applications for Permits, Plan Reviews and Inspections Will Not Be Accepted Either
Because of a software upgrade, Fairfax County’s Permit Applications Center will be unable to issue any building or trade permits on March 17. It also will not accept new applications for building or trade permits or building plan reviews. The Inspections Request Center also will be unable to schedule any new inspections.
Regular customer service will resume on Monday, March 20.
Fairfax County officials apologize for any inconvenience the public may experience as a result of this one-day interruption in normal customer service.
Both centers will remain open to assist customers with previously submitted applications or requests. Previously scheduled inspections will continue to be conducted on March 17.
Except for building and trade permits, applications for other construction-related permits will be accepted on March 17. New applications for fire safety permits can be submitted, although these permits will not be issued that day. Customers also may submit new zoning permit applications, and these permits will continue to be issued, including Non-Residential Use Permits, Home Occupation Permits and Temporary Special Permits.
The Permit Applications Center, Inspections Request Center and Zoning Permit Review Branch are located in the Herrity Building, 12055 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax. These offices are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday and from 9:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
