Supervisor DuBois to Host Dranesville Town Meeting
Supervisor Joan DuBois is hosting a Dranesville District Town Meeting on Saturday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at Colvin Run Elementary School, 1400 Trap Road, Vienna, near the intersection of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Towlston Road. The town meeting is an opportunity for residents to discuss with county staff a variety of timely topics, ask questions and learn more about county services.
County Executive Tony Griffin and Deputy County Executive Ed Long will provide insights on the FY2007 budget and other county initiatives. County staff working with home assessments will present an overview of the process and answer questions. Also on the agenda are updates from the Tysons Land Use Task Force, an update on Dulles Metrorail plans and information on recent police activity in the Dranesville district.
In addition, many county departments and agencies will have displays and handouts on a variety of services and programs. Two featured interactive displays will be My Neighborhood, an online tool for finding information and maps of neighborhoods, parks, schools, libraries and other public facilities; and Senior Navigator, the online one-stop shop for senior citizen information and services.
Information on the West Nile virus program, gypsy moth spraying, Park Authority project updates (Turner Farm Park, Clemyjontri Park, Cross County Trail and others), plans for the new Beulah Road fire station and other programs will be available. Also attending will be district appointees to various boards and commissions.
Doors open at 9 a.m. to view the displays and enjoy coffee followed by the presentations at 10 a.m. Displays will remain open until noon. For more information, contact DuBois’ office at 703-356-0551, TTY 711.
