Town Meeting for Arlington Terrace Residents
To Be Held at 6:30 p.m., June 26

Fairfax County is holding a town meeting at 6:30 p.m. tonight, June 26, for residents in the Arlington Terrace section of southeastern Fairfax County affected by the heavy rains and flooding. The town meeting will be held at Edison High School, 5801 Franconia Road, Alexandria. Representatives from Mount Vernon District Supervisor Gerry Hyland’s office and various Fairfax County agencies will be available to assist residents.

Representatives are scheduled to participate from the Fairfax County Division of Solid Waste Collection and Recycling; Fairfax Water; Fairfax County Health Department; Fairfax County Department of Family Services; Fairfax County Police Department; Fairfax County Fire and Rescue; Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management; Fairfax County Office of Public Affairs; Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services Home Inspectors; Fairfax County Stormwater Management; and Fairfax County Department of Tax Administration.

Fairfax County and the American Red Cross have opened a service center and an emergency shelter at Edison High School for residents who have been evacuated and cannot return to their homes in the Arlington Terrace area of Fairfax County. The service center is open from noon to 8 p.m. on June 26 at Edison High School. The emergency shelter at Edison High School will remain open overnight on June 26.
