County Honors Exceptional Architectural and Site Design
The design committee for the 22ndannual Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards selected six winners of architectural achievement for a building or site in the county. The awards will be presented at a Board of Supervisors meeting in the fall. This year’s award recipients are:

Entries were judged by a review committee composed Paul Erickson and Michael Nawrocki, Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects; Jeni Hornback, the Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association; Denis Gulakowski, the Engineers and Surveyors Institute; J. Paul Lewis, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce; Robert Beach, the Fairfax County History Commission and C. Richard Bierce, the Fairfax County Architectural Review Board.
The design awards program is sponsored by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and administered by the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning, in cooperation with the Fairfax County Architectural Review Board and the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
