Nov. 15 Meeting Scheduled to Discuss South Van
Dorn Street/Franconia Road Interchange Project
An open house will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Edison High School, 5801 Franconia Road, Alexandria, to discuss the proposed interchange project at the intersection of South Van Dorn Street and Franconia Road. A presentation will begin at 7 p.m. followed by questions and answers.
The project proposes a grade-separated interchange by depressing South Van Dorn Street under Franconia Road. The project is only funded for design, environmental investigation and partial right-of-way acquisition. There are currently no funds available for construction. The project is in the preliminary design and environmental investigation phase. Conceptual plans of the project can be reviewed at the Fairfax County Government Center, Suite 449, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax.
