Fairfax County Juvenile Driver’s License Ceremony
Changed to New Time
Beginning today, Jan. 3, the formal ceremony to issue all original driver’s licenses to applicants under the age of 18 will take place at 3:15 p.m. on the scheduled day in Courtroom A of the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, 4000 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax. In the past, this ceremony has been in the evening. Notices for the ceremony are usually sent out during the last 30 days of the temporary license period.
It is recommended those attending the ceremony (applicants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian) plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow plenty of time to find a parking space and walk to the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court courthouse. Those who arrive late will not be admitted, but will be given a new date to appear. Public parking is available in Parking Garage B located on Page Avenue at the Fairfax County public safety complex. Directions and a map.
In addition to being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, applicants must bring their temporary license and ceremony notification for identification. Due to limited seating, only one person should accompany each applicant.
For further information regarding the ceremony, contact the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court at 703-246-3030, TTY 711.
