New Circuit Court Judge Will Receive Official Commission on May 18
On Friday, May 18, at 4 p.m., Charles J. Maxfield will be presented his official commission as a Fairfax County Circuit Court judge. The investiture ceremony will take place in Courtroom 5E, Fairfax County Jennings Building Judicial Center, 4110 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax. The public is invited to attend the one hour-long investiture ceremony, as well as a reception immediately afterward in the atrium.
At the ceremony, Sen. Jay O’Brien will present the commission, and Circuit Court Chief Judge Michael P. McWeeny will ceremonially administer the oath. Judge Maxfield previously took his oath of office on Feb. 1.
Before joining the Circuit Court, Judge Maxfield was appointed as a substitute judge for the Fairfax County General District Courts in 1992. In 1994, he was appointed as a judge with the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and the College of William & Mary School of Law.
