The Fairfax County Federation of Citizens Associations will present an emergency preparedness forum with a focus on the older adult population on Thursday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at James Lee Community Center, 2855-A Annandale Road, Falls Church. This program will focus on sheltering-in-place and on how to stay prepared in case of an emergency.
The program is free and open to the public. All residents are welcome to attend. A light lunch will be provided.
The American Red Cross will conduct the first part of the program demonstrating how to assemble a shelter-in-place emergency kit. The second part of the program will present speakers from the Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management and Health Department on staying prepared, how to stay alert in case of emergency and what the county is doing to help its residents be prepared.
