 Independence Day Holiday Schedule for Fairfax County 

Listed below are schedules for Fairfax County government offices and services for the Independence Day holiday on Wednesday, July 4.

County Government – Closed

Courts – Closed

Public Schools and School Offices – Closed

Libraries – Closed

Fairfax Connector – Saturday schedule

FASTRAN – Not in service

Park Authority – Nature centers will be open from noon to 5 p.m.; historic sites will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Frying Pan Farm Park and the Country Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (visitor center will be closed); Green Spring Gardens will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (historic house will be closed); the Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole water park at Lake Fairfax Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; RECenters will be open, except George Washington, which will be closed, and Lee District RECenter, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Community, Teen and Senior Centers – Closed*

County Trash and County Recycling Collection ­– Regular schedule**

Recycling and Disposal Facilities at I-66 and I-95 – Closed

* Reston Community Center Hunters Woods will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
** Call private contractors about their schedules.
