2007 Transportation Bond Referendum Information Available on
Fairfax County Web Site
Information about this year’s transportation bond referendum is now available on the Fairfax County Web site at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/bond. This online resource will allow residents to get general information, watch a short video, view maps and request speakers to make presentations.
On Nov. 6, Fairfax County voters will be asked to vote “yes” or “no” on a county transportation bond referendum on the general election ballot.
The referendum asks voters to allow the county to borrow up to $110 million to pay for a variety of transportation projects. These include making improvements to roads, sidewalks and mass transit facilities.
Of the $110 million, more than $71 million would be spent on improving roads across the county, including six major and seven minor projects. Almost $24 million would be used to improve mass transit facilities, including Metrorail and Fairfax Connector. A total of $15 million would fund safety and access improvements to sidewalks and trails across the county.
