Columbus Day Holiday Schedules for Fairfax County Government
Listed below are schedules for Fairfax County government offices and services for the Columbus Day holiday on Monday, Oct. 8.
County Government – Closed
Office of Elections – Closed*
Courts – Closed
Public Schools and School Offices – Closed
Libraries – Closed
Fairfax Connector – Regular weekday schedule, except Routes 595 and 597 (no service**)
FASTRAN – Not in service
Park Authority RECenters – Open
Community, Teen and Senior Centers – Closed***
County Trash Collection – Regular schedule****
Recycling and Disposal Facilities at I-66 and I-95 – Open
*Due to this closure, the statewide deadline for voter registration is extended an extra day to Tuesday, Oct. 9. Registrations must be submitted (in person or by postmark) by that date.
**Riders can take Fairfax Connector buses to West Falls Church Metro Station to continue by Metrorail.
*** Reston Community Center’s Hunters Woods facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; the swimming pool will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
