Exceptional Architectural and Site Design Honored by Fairfax County
The design jury for the 23rd annual Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards selected five winners of exceptional architectural or site design achievement in the county. The awards will be presented at the Board of Supervisors meeting on Nov. 19. This year’s award recipients are:
Honor Award

Entries were judged by a review committee composed of Marlene Walli Shade and Michael Nawrocki, Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects; Jeni Hornback, the Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association; Lisa Delplace and Oliver Boehm, the Potomac Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects; Denis Gulakowski, the Engineers and Surveyors Institute; J. Paul Lewis, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce; Lynne Garvey Wark, the Fairfax County History Commission; and John Burns, the Fairfax County Architectural Review Board.
The design awards program is sponsored by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and administered by the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning, in cooperation with the Fairfax County Architectural Review Board and the Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
