Braddock District to Hold Community Meeting
about Little River Glen Construction
Braddock District Supervisor Sharon Bulova will be hosting a community meeting to discuss neighborhood concerns about the third phase of construction at the Little River Glen Senior Campus located at the intersection of Olley Lane and Little River Turnpike. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the Little River Glen Senior Center, 4001 Barker Court, Fairfax.
During the past several years, the county has been working on preliminary design plans and identifying funding for the campus, known as Olley Glen. “Planning is at a stage where we are ready to provide information to the community, and we invite county residents to participate in a community briefing and discussion of the project,” said Bulova.
Staff from the county’s Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Department of Community and Recreation Services and Little River Glen will attend the meeting to present the current plans, answer questions and respond to concerns.
Olley Glen will consist of 90 units of independent-living residences in three two-story buildings with elevators.
The existing Little River Glen campus consists of Little River Glen, a 120-unit low-to-moderate income independent senior residence. This original facility includes a senior center that was completed in 1990. In 2006, the second phase of the campus, Braddock Glen, was completed. This added a 60-unit assisted-living residence and an adult day care center.
