Ninth Annual Providence District Environmental Fair on Saturday, March 29

The ninth annual Providence District Environmental Fair will take place on Saturday, March 29, at Fairhill Elementary School, 3001 Chichester Lane, Fairfax. Residents are welcome to stop by at any time from 9 a.m. to noon. Complimentary breakfast and networking starts at 9 a.m.

Hosted by Providence District Supervisor Linda Q. Smyth, the fair’s focus is global climate change — its effects on Fairfax County and the region and what proactive measures residents can take in their homes and communities.

The fair is free. Activities and information will include:

  • Secure document shredding sponsored by the Fairfax County Solid Waste Management Division.
  • Customized commuting and leisure bike and multi-modal transportation mapping sponsored by the Fairfax County Pedestrian Safety Program.
  • Residential green construction sponsored by the Virginia Sustainable Building Network.
  • Bicycle repairs sponsored by bikes@vienna.
  • Native seedlings order forms from the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District.
  • Display booths on global climate change sponsored by private organizations and county agencies.
