Fair Housing Conference on April 2 for Real Estate Professionals

The Fair Housing Conference, in commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, will be held on Wednesday, April 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Northern Virginia Community College-Annandale Campus, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale. All sessions and lunch are free, seating is limited and registration is required by March 31 at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/hrc.

The Fairfax County Human Rights Commission (HRC) is sponsoring the event in collaboration with the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (NVAR), which is sponsoring the lunch. The program will focus on housing discrimination and diversity issues. Scheduled speakers include:

  • Kim Kendrick, assistant secretary, Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); keynote address at lunch.
  • Sara Pratt, former director of enforcement, Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at HUD; morning session.
  • James Karantonis, founder and director of Human Relations and Communications, Inc; afternoon session.
