Providence District to Host Information Session on HOT Lanes and Transit Service
Providence District Supervisor Linda Q. Smyth is hosting an informational session on the Capital Beltway High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes project and a comprehensive plan for countywide transit service. The event is Tuesday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m., in the Luther Jackson Middle School cafeteria, 3020 Gallows Rd., Falls Church.
The Capital Beltway project will add two lanes in each direction from Springfield to just north of the Dulles Toll Road for high-occupancy-vehicle, bus and HOT traffic. This is an opportunity to learn more about how this project will impact the community. Representatives from the Virginia Department of Transportation, which is overseeing the project, and Capital Beltway Express LLC, formerly Fluor-Transurban, which will construct the additional lanes, will be available to answer questions.
Fairfax County Department of Transportation representatives also will be on hand to discuss a comprehensive 10-year plan being developed for transit service in the county. The plan will include both Fairfax Connector and Metrobus service. There will be presentations, maps, charts and personnel working on the project available to receive comments and answer questions. Further information on the plan and an online comment form are available at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fcdot/tdp.htm.
For additional information on the April 29 meeting, contact the Providence District Office at 703-560-6946, TTY 711.
