Memorial Day Holiday Schedules for Fairfax County Government
Listed below are schedules for Fairfax County government offices and services for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 26.
CountyGovernment – Closed
Courts – Closed
Public Schools and School Offices – Closed
Libraries – Closed Sunday, May 25 and Monday, May 26
FairfaxConnector – Sunday service
Fastran – Not in service
Park Authority – Facilities will operate on holiday schedules on Monday, May 26. RECenters will open at regular time, but close at 6 p.m.; George Washington RECenter will be closed all day; nature centers will be open from noon to 5 p.m.; historic sites will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Frying Pan Farm Park will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; The Country Store and Visitor Center will be closed; Green Spring Gardens will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but the historic house will be closed.
Community, Teen and Senior Centers – Closed*
CountyTrash and County Recycling Collection – Open; please have trash and recyclables properly set out at curb by 6 a.m. to ensure collection.**
Recycling and Disposal Facilities at I-66 and I-95 – Open
* The Reston Community Center’s Hunters Woods
facility (2310 Colts Neck Road, Reston) will be open from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. The Lake Anne facility will be closed.
** Residents receiving trash and recyclables collection service from
private collection companies should contact their service provider
directly to learn of any schedule adjustments for the holiday.
