Get Connected With Your Community Through Upcoming Annandale Neighborhood College
The Fairfax County Department of Systems Management for Human Services is now accepting applications for the 2008 Annandale Neighborhood College. The registration deadline for these free classes is Monday, June 9, and class size is limited. Applications are available at the George Mason Regional Library, 7001 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, or can be requested by e-mail at nicole.murray@fairfaxcounty.gov.
Classes begin on Wednesday, June 11, and continue weekly on Tuesday evenings from June 17 through July 15, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the Annandale Neighborhood Center, 4700 Medford Drive, Annandale. A light meal will be served.
The Neighborhood College is an award-winning community leadership program open to residents interested in learning about Fairfax County, and how to work with neighbors, community organizations and local government to strengthen neighborhoods, build community capacity and promote a strong sense of community.
This session is focused on providing current and emerging community leaders with:

A greater understanding of Fairfax County government.

An increased awareness of resources, services and ways to get
involved.

New skills training on effective participation in the county and
community.
- Network connections that build a sense of community.
