The Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference brings together grassroots neighborhood leaders, youth, representatives from nonprofits and government staff involved in neighborhood development. The event provides an opportunity to attend information-packed workshops; listen to thought-provoking speakers; view an array of exhibitions and take advantage of unparalleled networking opportunities with influential neighborhood advocates and professionals from across the state.
Each year, the conference is hosted by a different Virginia jurisdiction. As a reflection of Fairfax County’s diversity, the theme of this year’s conference is “Embracing Change – Creating and Sustaining Community Connections.” The conference will feature workshops that focus on the following issues and how they affect neighborhoods statewide:
- Embracing diversity.
- Safe and livable neighborhoods.
- Community leadership.
- Developing partnerships.
- Prevention.
