Regional Incident Management Team Returns from Louisiana

- National Capital Region Incident Management Team returns from New Orleans at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 11.
- Eight jurisdictions represented.
A 15-member National Capital Region Incident Management Team (NCR-IMT) will return from New Orleans this afternoon, following a nine-day assignment to the New Orleans Emergency Operations Center. The NCR-IMT will arrive at approximately 3 p.m. at the Springfield Fire and Rescue Station, 7011 Backlick Road, Springfield.
The NCR-IMT is a cadre of specially trained personnel that provides experienced command and control capability for large-scale, complex emergency incidents and disasters. The NCR-IMT deployed to Louisiana with specially trained management personnel including, fire, emergency medical services, law enforcement, public health and emergency management professionals.
Jurisdictions represented includedArlington County, City of Alexandria, Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Prince William County, Montgomery County, Frederick, Md., and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
The NCR-IMT gained valuable experience assisting with the restoration of critical infrastructure and reoccupation of residential and businesses throughout the New Orleans area. They also helped with the planning and coordination of the return of city residents evacuated during Hurricane Gustav.
