Springfield District Supervisor Pat Herrity invites the public to a preview of Springfield District Nights, a weekly summer family concert series that will start in 2009. The free concert will be held at Burke Lake Park, 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station on Saturday, Sept. 20, 5-7:30 p.m.
The concert will feature Grammy-nominated performer Bill Kirchen, children’s performers Rocknoceros, and IONA, a Pan-Celtic band. Burke Lake Park’s facilities, which include train rides, miniature golf and carousel rides, will be open until 6:30 p.m. at the standard fee. There will be a park admission fee of $8 for cars that are not registered in Fairfax County.
