In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Fairfax County Domestic Violence Awareness Month Planning Committeepresents “Voices of Men,” a multi-media performance by actor Ben Atherton-Zemanthat uses celebrity male voice impressions and video clips urging men to speak out about stopping violence against women.
This free event will take place onFriday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Fairfax County Government Center Board Auditorium, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax. As the performance includes scenes depicting violence against women, people are advised to use self-care in deciding whether or not to attend.
Atherton-Zeman is a spokesperson for the National Organization for Men Against Sexism and has worked as a prevention educator for rape crisis centers, domestic violence programs and state coalitions for the past 17 years. He is a board member of the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable and an advisory board member for the White Ribbon Campaign in the United Kingdom.
