The Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning (DPZ), along with a consultant, will host a Baileys Crossroads Planning Study open house on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., at the Goodwin House Auditorium, 3440 South Jefferson Street, Falls Church. Parking is available at the rear of the Giant parking lot located along the south side of the Goodwin House.
The Baileys Crossroads Planning Study specifically looks at the area to the south and east of the interchange of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Columbia Pike (Route 244) in the Baileys Crossroads Community Business Center area. The study will result in recommendations for changes to the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan and strategies for implementing changes.
Two concepts for the study area will be presented. Attendees are invited to provide input on these concepts and how to make the study area into a more urban place, with better physical links while maintaining compatibility with neighboring districts. Residents also can review the concepts and submit comments online from Feb. 12 to March 1.
Frequently updated information about the study, such as maps, reports, analysis and upcoming public meetings, is available online. Subscribing to the Baileys Crossroads Planning Study e-announcements via this Web page also provides a way to stay informed about the latest updates.
