A special election will be held in the Braddock District on Tuesday, March 10, to elect a new representative to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. The Braddock District seat was vacated by Sharon Bulova, who was elected Board of Supervisors chairman on Feb. 3.
The voter registration deadline is 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24; mail-in registration applications must be postmarked on or before Feb. 24.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10.
Absentee voting is open weekdays through Friday, March 6, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents can vote in person at the Fairfax County Government Center, Suite 323, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax.
Applications for absentee ballots must be received by the Office of Elections by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3. Applications can be obtained from the Office of Elections or they may be printed from the Office of Elections Web page. Applications can be returned by mail, fax or e-mail attachment (voting@fairfaxcounty.gov) to the Office of Elections.
The candidates on the ballot are Ilryong Moon, John Cook and Carey Campbell.
