Jan L. Brodie will be presented her official commission as a Fairfax Circuit Court judge on Friday, March 27, at 4 p.m. The investiture ceremony will take place in Courtroom 5J, Fairfax County Courthouse, 4110 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax. The public is invited to attend the hour-long ceremony and a reception immediately afterwards.
At the ceremony, state Sen. Chap Petersen will present Brodie with her official commission. Circuit Court Chief Judge Dennis J. Smith will ceremonially administer the oath to Brodie, who took her oath of office on Sept. 12, 2008.
Before joining the Circuit Court, Brodie served for 20 years in the Office of the County Attorney. She retired in 2008 as a deputy county attorney. Brodie graduated from George Mason University School of Law in 1986.
