The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, at its meeting on Monday, Jan. 12, scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., will make the following presentations to residents and county staff. Southwestern Youth Association East 9-10 Year Old Little League All-Star Team
The Board of Supervisors will recognize the members of the Southwestern Youth Association East 9-10 Year Old Little League All-Star Team for outstanding athletic ability and accomplishments during the 2008 season. Their teamwork resulted in victory in the District 10 Championship, the Virginia State Championship and advancement to the Regional Tournament of State Champions held in West Virginia.
Sami Kalifa
The Board of Supervisors will honor the life of Sami Kalifa and his years of dedicated service and outstanding commitment to Fairfax County, its residents and community. Kalifa diligently worked to promote and improve his community by raising money for charities, participating in community events and working on the Annandale revitalization plan.
Budget Community Dialogues Team
The Board of Supervisors will recognize the members of the Budget Community Dialogues team for their exceptional work and initiative. They provided presentations and engaged the community by facilitating small group discussions to gather input from nearly 700 county residents and county employees regarding the Fairfax County budget for FY2010.
