The 14th Fairfax County Interfaith Community
Dialogue was held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Congregation
Olam Tikvah, 3800 Glenbrook Road, Fairfax, to promote understanding,
encourage respect and strengthen relationships within culturally
and religiously diverse neighborhoods.
Featured speakers included Father Tuck Grinnell, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church; Rabbi Benjamin Shalva, Congregation Olam Tikvah; and Imam Zia Makhdoom, Mustafa Islamic Center. Each addressed how their sacred scriptures were understood and how they impact daily living.
The dialogue is presented by Fairfax County Interfaith Communities for Dialogue (ICD). ICD has organized interfaith community dialogues since 2003to offer people of diverse ethnic, cultural and faith backgrounds an opportunity to share their experiences and viewpoints. Support for ICD is provided by a collaborative partnership of the Fairfax County Community Interfaith Liaison Office and local civic, nonprofit and faith communities.
