Thanksgiving Holiday Schedules for Fairfax County Government

News Highlights

County Government – Closed Nov. 26-27.
Courts – Closed Nov. 26-27; General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
Public Schools and School Offices – Closed Nov. 26-27; two-hour early closing for students only on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
Libraries – Closed Nov. 26-27.
- Nov. 26 - Sunday Service on routes: 101, 151, 152, 161, 162, 171, 310, 321, 322, 401, 402, 505, 574, 605, 950, and RIBS 1, 2, 3, and 4. No other routes will operate.
- Nov. 27 - Weekday service on all routes, except Routes 380, 585, 595 and 597, which will not operate. Route 980 will operate at reduced level of service.
Fastran – Not in service Nov. 26-27.
- Nov. 26 - All Park Authority RECenters will open at their regular time and close at noon, except George Washington; which is closed. Nature centers, historic sites, Green Spring Gardens and Frying Pan Farm Park are closed.
- Nov. 27 - Nature centers are open noon to 5 p.m.; historic sites are open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Frying Pan Farm Park is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Visitor Center is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Green Spring Gardens is open noon to 4:30 p.m.; the historic house will be closed.
Community, Teen and Senior Centers – Closed, except for Reston Community Center’s Hunters Woods facility (2310 Colts Neck Road, Reston), which will be open Thursday, Nov. 26, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community Centers also will be closed Saturday, Nov. 28.
County Trash and Recycling Collection – Residents receiving trash and recycling collection from Fairfax County will have regular collection service Nov. 26 and 27. Residents receiving trash and recyclables collection service from private collection companies should contact service provider for the holiday schedule.
Recycling and Disposal Facilities at I-66 and I-95 – Closed Nov. 26. Open on Nov. 27 with normal operating schedule.
