Vendor Forum 2009 on April 2

The Fairfax County Department of Purchasing and Supply Management and the Small Business Commission are hosting Vendor Forum 2009 “Doorway to Opportunities” on Thursday, April 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax. Vendor Forum 2009 is a regional conference fostering business partnerships among local government, large corporations and small, women-owned and minority-owned (SWaM) businesses.
Vendor Forum 2009 will include educational sessions and networking opportunities with some of Fairfax County’s largest contractors. Representatives from county agencies, as well as the towns of Herndon and Vienna; the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church; Virginia Department of Transportation; Fairfax County Public Schools; Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council; and other organizations are participating.
The keynote address will be given by Samuel Hayes, director of the Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise.
Educational sessions include:
Registering with Electronic Virginia (eVA).
Getting small women-owned and minority-owned businesses (SWaM)
certified in Virginia.
Selling to Fairfax County.
