Residents Encouraged to Vote Absentee at Satellite Locations Oct. 24

To avoid the anticipated increased traffic and crowds associated with the H1N1 vaccination event on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Fairfax County Government Center, residents planning to vote in-person absentee are encouraged to visit one of seven satellite voting locations as an alternative.
These locations are open for in-person absentee voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday:
- Franconia Governmental Center
- Mason Governmental Center
- McLean Governmental Center
- Mount Vernon Governmental Center
- North County Governmental Center
- Sully District Governmental Center
- West Springfield Governmental Center
Absentee voting also is open in Suite 323 of the Fairfax County Government Center weekdays through Oct. 30, from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and every Saturday in October, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Absentee voting also is available at the satellite locations through Oct. 31, weekdays 3 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Applications for absentee ballots must be received by the Office of Elections by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Applications are available at all government centers, libraries or can be downloaded from the Office of Elections Web site. The completed application should be mailed to the Office of Elections, faxed to 703-324-3725, or scanned as an e-mail attachment to voting@fairfaxcounty.gov.
