Voter Registration Closes Oct. 5; Absentee Voting Open Until Oct. 31

The voter registration deadline for the Nov. 3 general election is Monday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked on or before Oct. 5. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 3.
Absentee voting is open in Suite 323 of the Fairfax County Government Center weekdays through Oct. 13, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; weekdays Oct. 14-30, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and every Saturday in October, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Absentee voting also is available at seven satellite locations throughout the county Oct. 14-31, weekdays 3 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The locations are:
- Franconia Governmental Center
- Mason Governmental Center
- McLean Governmental Center
- Mount Vernon Governmental Center
- North County Governmental Center
- Sully District Governmental Center
- West Springfield Governmental Center
Applications for absentee ballots must be received by the Office of Elections by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Applications are available at all government centers, libraries or can be downloaded from the Office of Elections Web site. The completed application should be mailed to the Office of Elections, faxed to 703-324-3725, or scanned as an e-mail attachment to voting@fairfaxcounty.gov.
