TextVRE Disaster Exercise Saturday Nov. 13, in Springfield

On Saturday, Nov. 13, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) will conduct its annual disaster exercise on the train tracks near Fleet Road in Springfield, Va.
Because of this exercise, residents may see Fairfax County fire, police and EMS units at this location.
The exercise, which is not open to the media or public, simulates a train derailment as a result of a terrorist attack.
